We likey lucca

Family OTW along with Vinogirl have just returned from Lucca Tuscany. Gelato, food, wine, coffee and great buildings......a great time was had by all.

In the old days this post would have included a wide-angled shot of the blogger formerly known as Tuscan Tony, acting as tour guide and drinking companion.

However, he jumped ship to Facebook in order to appear less Angry-of-Tuscany, more Down-Wid-De-Yoot. Nothing has been seen of him for yonks. Lilith's Calfy was given his numbers to call on a visit a fortnight ago, but is yet to report back.

I fear his turn came around, as it does to all Italian residents, and he is doing his eight-week stint as Prime Minister of that exemplary liberal democracy.

How adorable! Never too young to learn to enjoy an espresso!

You kids are so adorable! The girls dresses are always so sweet, I miss that! I so miss being so close to Europe and visiting a place where you are completed transported into another time - but you can still eat ice cream. How funny I am sending this link to a friend who is taking her whole family there for the summer. Her parent's families are from there

You're right, Idle!

Tuscan Tony used to be required reading a few years ago, but he made so much from olive oil futures, that he never had to work again;0)

Lucky you OTW family - gorgeous place to be...

Thanks to the Tuscan we are all well acquainted with Lucca - and many of it's beautiful women.

Ooh, jealous jealous jealous. One of my favourite places.

When am I going to Italy next?

Can't be too soon!

Any particular reason why there?

James, everything you could want from Italy is contained within the city walls and all within easy walking distance.

Aha, I might have my excuse...just received a wedding invitation and the evening "do" is a masked ball, no less.

Clearly I need to visit Venice to buy my mask. Oh, and it's a Biennale year - my cup runneth over!

Now, let me see, when does the Stendhal leave...?

WY...that's you sorted then!
