Watertight

The new roof is now on the coach house so we have somewhere to work in during the coming winters bad weather. We are still a couple of months behind with our work because of the last 12 months terrible weather so more of this winter will be spent labouring outside than I want but that's the way it goes!

does your new stone come from the same quarry as the old ? there is a variation in colour in the old,( perhaps different beds in the quarry) but not in the new.

H.original quarry for the light Staunton stone was played out years ago but the Cumbrian St. Bees for the bothy is decent stuff and pretty well comes out with a decent tight grain and colour match.i'm off upto quarry in the morning for the last 15 ton I need.

I'm at the early end of a building project too and the thrill of just making things I'd forgotten. Not effing easy either - had to get two keels precise and in parallel. I'm using epoxy which is a bit easier.

I look at your constructions and love 'em.

James, what exactly are you making? I find great satisfaction working like this.
