Lots of small (large?) steps in the bothy build this week have made me a happy if rather tired and aching chappie. The roof structure is now ready for the felt and slate to go on, resulting in a dry interior to work in...luxury! The oak truss was also erected (green oak is HEAVY to lift) as a centre piece of the new kitchen, not a bad weeks work.

Fabulous!
Love this building, it's a real credit to you and your guys - and gals!
You won't know it's a new build when it's done.
It's lovely, love the oak truss. Good job bro!
do you allow any freedom in the fixings to allow for movement in the oak or do you build it in solidly ? green oak can move in surprising ways
H, because it is green it is for now and will be for as long as possible free standing (just set into wall pocket)That should give it some time to start settling down and producing its shakes.
LOOKS LIKE ME GRANNIES HOUSE....LETS SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO!
Wow! All of a sudden its almost done - so quickly too! Mind you other people's construction - like pregnancies - always seem to be quicker!
Hi Thud- What a fascinating structure. Amazing work.
