For the unrepentant socialists and Guardian readers of the world the last couple of weeks has been heaven...the collapse of capitalism...at last! Only thing wrong with this scenario is that it is completely wrong...whoops! In a few months the world will be working away like crazy and all this end of the world nonsense will just be so much history. Mind you according to some it was super Gordon Brown who saved the day....and here was me just thinking he was a gormless git...who knew?

For the unrepentant socialists and Guardian readers of the world the last couple of weeks has been heaven...the collapse of capitalism...at last! Only thing wrong with this scenario is that it is completely wrong...whoops! I have no idea what a "gormless git" is (I'm American). Thanks for visiting my blog today. I thought I'd give your a go as well. It will be an uphill battle, I'm afraid. Winston Churchill, I think, said that we are two nations separated by the same language, and, oh, 'tis true, 'tis true (echoes of A. E. Houseman). I searched dictionary.com for "scouser" and then had to go look up "lobscouse" only to discover that you are either a resident of Liverpool or a sailor's stew consisting of meat, potatoes, onions, ship's biscuit, etc. (God only knows what the "etc." might be -- probably squid's eye, rat leg, or the occasional careless sailor' amputated finger).
Please be gentle; I'm a virgin in your land. But I agree with your politics.
