Several years ago I was offered this place for sale at what would be today a shockingly low price. I loved the house and it's history as a hunting lodge of the Stanleys, Earls of Derby, who may have been entertained by a young William Shakespeare at the house made it a very tempting proposition. The proximity however of busy roads and encroaching housing developments made me decide to look elsewhere,something I have occasionally regretted. Now I want to try and find a house that has the combination of history and architectural interest with hopefully a more rural aspect....mind you....the access to Tesco's was unmatched!

Double trouble 2.

Would that lodge be in Knowsley by any chance?
Gallimaufry...It's Bidston hall.I do know the lodges in knowsley at the Derbys estate though as I was born within a stones throw.
Do the dogs come with it?
Bidston hall lost on a game of cards,has a real history,was a farm house for many years,not far from B&Q and Tescos,went past today
Forgot to say you missed out the big air=raid shelter that goes under the hill and the vent now blocked not far from the hall,and the old antiaircraft pits down by the new road opp the roundabout now overgrown and the Wirral cycle path that goes to Chester and to Wallasey sandhills a mile or so away also for the 7stiles pub now burnt out but Biston village still a lovely place.
next sunny day I'll be on hill looking for that vent!

the Council has closed the entrances with steel plate and concrete but where theres a will etc
