Potty Time.

Pots of all sorts are featuring strongly in my life at present.Firstly, Princess OTW is undergoing the ordeal known as 'potty training',with often hilarious and sometimes messy results. Secondly my frenzied quest for materials for my new project continues, with this weeks hunt focusing on chimney pots to match the ones pictured above. It is quite easy to find the odd one in a salvage yard but I need twelve of the buggers! That means lots of calls to salvage yards, places I love to visit but they do tend to be run by bloody spivs....I'd much sooner deal with Steptoe.

Seen someone come out of Ellesmere Port tat market with two of the clay ones in an Asda trolley(rear right one), well very similar type, will have a look tomorrow,Thursday, also seen some in a garden centre being used for flowers but can't remember which one,if they don't have a computer part stuck to them, then I don't really take any notice, just the oddity.

Sorry to say you can't have it, but I HAVE the chimney pot on the right. It's my umbrella stand. [you knew I have great style, yes?] I saw it in an antique market in Dallas and threw a screaming strop until then-husband got it for me for my birthday. Well, not a screaming strop, so much. I slobbered over it at the market one day, and a month later at my birthday, there was this really big, really heavy box. It's quite lovely. Good luck finding more of them.

Ah!...so thats what happens to all the pots....they are nice though.

Yes, it's quite lovely, I think. Oh, to have a house which needed so many chimney pots!

phlegmy...you have an open invite if ever in need of some English countryside and history..plus Mrs OTW needs more shoe talk than I can ever provide.

omg omg omg!!! I'll totally come visit y'all next time I'm in England. I'm squeeing!

By the way, I just moved this chimney pot into my little house this past weekend, and I'll be posting it on the blog sometime soon (probably tomorrow). I need more umbrellas and walking sticks for it, but for now, my paltry two will have to do.
