Salty sands.

Family OTW have arrived safely in Utah for our latest trip to visit my big sister (la serrenissima) and her wonderful family. The trip through the sierras and Nevada was as usual enjoyable and boring in equal measures but as always from a driving point of view great fun. We stopped in Elko for lunch, just another of the strange little towns that seem scattered at random in the Nevada wilderness. I have not been in Utah at this time of year before and the colourful trees against the blue sky and glowering mountains combine to make a landscape that is quite striking...more to follow.
