Still recoving and doing repair work to existing plaster we worked off scaff tower today to tackle a rather high and awkward ceiling. As an anybody working on old houses knows, a straight line or level ceiling is a rare creature and so shaping, carving and bending of the 10ft plaster lengths was the order of the day. Fitting the coving whilst still green(fresh and damp) makes the job easier (liberal applications of water helps) but even so the language today was rather salty shall we say! Tomorrow its up the ladder to take some impressions of damaged mouldings to make up missing bits, a fiddly job but one I find rather satisfying.

Onwards and upwards

I like the ceiling treatment, will there be a medallion around the light fixture? We do so much work with wood because it flexes during an earthquake, to see it all done in stone and plaster is intriguing.
I have gotten pretty good with mud and drywall though.
It would have to give you satisfaction, that.
As mentioned before, I hate doing coving.
Nuff said.
