Yesterdays political drama was of historic moment and so today exhausted from the fray (I like the sound of that) it is back to work in the real world. The Bothy shown above is third on my list of buildings to restore and today the architect is due to meet me to go through his drawings ( I don't like architects!) The bothy was built in 1850 and had a brick kitchen extension added sometime around 1900. we plan to replace the brick extension with a larger one built in matching sandstone while extending the back room (apple store) to create a downstairs bedroom suitable for someone with limited mobility. The building is of quite simple design although it does have a Tudor style door and some similar shaped windows and so we hope any additions will compliment the existing details. The architect will today show me how we will include underfloor heating,biomass and air source heating into the overall scheme (green...who me?) So all being well we should start the build process bureaucrats allowing sometime before the end of the year.

Not been in that one,so pictures Henrietta pictures of the inside,before not after destruction :-),it's those tree's that bother me.

The Bothy and the blossom look very nice.
You need to do something with that tank of yours,it wasn't until mrs OTW was right up by us that I realised it was her giving us a big smile and a royal wave :-)
we were too busy counting all the kids playing football in the road,well when I got stopped last time by plod that the garbage I was told.
This look like a fairytale cottage,straight out of Hansel and Gretel you definately need leaded windows....the fences remind me of growing up in wales the estate we lived on (we had the lodge) had that fence...oh the days of climbing over to pick blackberries and goosegogs...god I sound like an EniD Blyton novel...good luck with planners!
Oh! I want it, put me down for it straight away...'suitable for a disabled person'.. what more could an old 'gal', like me want? I love flower lining the pathway, enchanting.

Trubes....family OTW areall fine, I hope you are on the mend.I'm working like crazy before my summer migration to California with the gate lodge in particular being a priority (no pics as it is recognisable) Tai pan is indeed open, the family and I will be tucking in to dim sum a week on Sunday.
Rj...Ta for visiting, estate fencing is a fav of mine and I will hopefully be erecting more later this year.
Had to Google-UK the term "bothy" - interesting... Aak, the words "Enid Blyton" - Oh! The bucolic horror of adventure escapism. I read a lot of that from Station vendors in the Raj-Colony as a kid overseas, but much preferred Biggles instead as he tended to use his guns more frequently and expertly.
I have looked into getting an air source heat pump installed in are office, however the local planning office would not let us do it as it would encroach onto a public path a little.
