Washington burning

A couple of hundred years ago this week the victorious British army burnt the White house and other buildings in retaliation for the naughty colonialist temerity in trying to invade Canada. I've another few days left in America and I was wondering in a 'hands across the ocean' sort of way, if any descendants of the original colonists would like help in re enacting the event, as Washington needs a good sorting out more than ever don't you think?

I don't think I have any relatives there Thudders, although we probably had a few problem ancestors who were plonked in the army for good measure back then...

If you want to see another burnt out house though, and couple it with a fantastic vinyard visit to an estate like those you connect to out west, but the VA version, try and get to here if you have a moment.

The reds are outstanding, and Mrs S and I spent a happy hour nursing a bottle by yet another restored old house by the James River near Williamsburg...

I will wait for a while as your gracious hosts bought loads of materials that kept the gunsmiths busy for quite a while before and after the Kenyan Obambi took power, maybe you will get to be invited to a lamppost party like the one we need in this country or maybe just a white house burning party, just like we need a Guy Fawkes mkII to sort out our parliament, both of our countries appear to be going down the same yellow brick road ,both lost, both run by corrupt goverments,at least when we burnt the old White House, both countries had aims and goals they wanted to attain,as they say what happens in the USA,we do 20years later.

We could use the help, now is not the time to quibble. We can come over to help you guys with the Guy Fawkes bit and hand the Socialists a right Cromwell whipping.
