God and detail

Part of the main house is now in livable condition and while we forge ahead on various bathrooms (no kitchen in sight yet) my mind is turning to the large amount of fine detail work left undone. Various niches and alcoves whilst plastered and painted lack their detailing and mouldings. So it's back to nightly trolling of the net in the hope of turning up some fantastic Gothic mouldings at rock bottom price....dream on! The process of setting up a dedicated wood shop starts next week once we rid the stables of 50 years of cobwebs and our first attempts at various turnings and tracery await.....this may end in tears.

Various bathrooms? How big is this place?

James...a hell of a lot bigger than I intended to buy when I was looking for a new place but I'm a sucker for semi derelict old houses.
