Great kit 2

The pic above shows the humble push fit stop end, an unassuming bit of kit I'll agree. If like many thousands of people in Britain you suffered a burst pipe in the recent thaw then the humble stop end if at hand would have been a god send. A simple little device designed to be pushed on a pipe end even if that pipe is pouring out water under pressure (stop taps can be elusive creatures) the push fit is the answer to many peoples prayers. So whilst not the most dramatic or attractive looking piece of equipment the push fit stop end is in the right circumstances priceless (pennies really)...have one handy around the house as you never know when you will need one.

I didn't realise that they could be put on a live pipe Thudders!

Scrobs...never the best option but very rewarding when you get such an instantaneous result.

Agreed. Have them in all sizes.

Always know where the stop-cock is.

Kev...a man with a plan I see. Working on old houses I tend to find Anderson shelters and dead butlers before the stop cock.

Do you think they would work on the vineyard irrigation? If so, remind me to get one (or ten) for Vinomaker when I am home in April!

Excellent advice.

I built my own house so abundance of stopcocks and isolation valves is a given, but still worth having these for emergencies.

Don't they need a pretty clean properly round end though?

WY..correct, the only one that failed me was due to a cut end that had a slight angle to it.
