A little cheese and whine
In honour of my sister and fellow blogger Vinogirl I Have decided this post will be a tribute to her interesting and educational wine blog, Vinsanity. I spent the day today in my wirral vineyard training the dormant vines (vitis vidi vici) in preparation for the coming growth season. Accompanied by my vino dogs feelgood and froth (not dogs to be precise but employees that I happily treat as such) I wield my triple fulcrum secateurs (whitely sturnton x45's....£97 a pop) with gay abandon as I breathed in the sweet kerosene fumes of the sleazy jet Malaga flight as it banked in the refulgent sky above. I tend to be a follower of the slash and burn school of pruning as in...if you criticise my pruning you will be slashed and your car burnt out (ah the hidden scouser within) which I find terrifies the little grapey beauties to produce a much superior bouquet, lets call it more terrorism than terroir. After an exhausting 20 minutes work I retired to the terrace for a well earned chilled glass of geheimstatspolizei ( a 92 if you are so foolish to ask) a wine that combines the many qualities of the pfeffenhoff and grand mal grapes. All in all another day in the paradise that is my little slice of heaven on the Mersey.

No mention of cheese.
CW....The post like myself is rather cheesy!
The '92 geheimstatspolizei is a little too soft for my palate, and I like the tannin you get from a good sicherheitsdienst (any vintage). As does Max Mosley....allegedly.
Well played Affer.
This is a post worthy of Lord Roby! Now stop mucking about and make sure there are some interesting wines for me to try when I get home.
I will check your pruning job in April.
How lovely! Better the yield of flavors should please than we should worry about what motivated those trembling little grapes, poor little things.
If you terrorize 'em enough they should squeeze themselves!
cracking post thudders, am i out of the bad books and back in the fields this weekend for some pruning of a more manly style, i.e with a chainsaw?
Monkey...man up and get your arse into gear.
Dear god ,thumeister ,you've been hammering that thesaurus in between your slurps of grape juice havent you?...We're on our way to get our 3 bottles for 10pound from Asda, who sez ,i've got no class?
Watch it this evening though - it's blowing a gale.
Good word refulgent. Thank you Thud.
