Another step closer

There is no such thing as a fitted kitchen. There is nearly fitted, should fit, could fit, why doesn't it bleedin fit and smash the bugger up and start again....as you may have guessed, fitting kitchens isn't fun.

When I fitted our kitchen I was having some bother. Throughout all of this I could hear the icecream van coming through the neighbourhood. An hour of Greensleeves being chimed out.

When he came to our street I'd had enough. I stormed up to his window and snarled "Do you realise how bloody annoying that noise is !"

He looked horrified. I hadn't shaved for two days and I had two-in-one tap fitting in my hand (a hefty lump of metal)

Your kitchen looks great.

Kev, We had a bit of a problem with straight walls today, I may bury the plasterer.

That looks stunning. When I re-did my kitchen I decided that new cupboards were likely to be far too much bother so I kept the old yellowing ones!

Wow!, you won't have an excuse now not to make me a cup of tea when I troll down your drive to wind you up, I presume you have had steps made for the princesses when it's their turn to make a bacon sarny for your builders.

Scrobs...room was once 3 small rooms and so quite a bit had to come out and steel added etc. Plasterers were under orders to get straight and level walls (not much to ask) I did the floor and it is level, the walls...well lots of scribing going on....so much for plasterers eye.

It looks an excellent piece of work. Do I see four ovens?

No wok burner? I once stayed in an excellent small hotel in Chorlton run by a lovely Chinese family. Once the wok was warmed up (cherry red!) the cooked breakfast took about thirty seconds after adding the sausage and bacon. Whip them out and flash fry an egg. Literally. It tasted amazing!

Brian, don't encourage them, I'm outnumbered by the bloody Chinese in this family as it is.

Looks fabulous to me, though. :)

Straight walls, yeah. In my experience kitchen fitting problems are quite often due to the building not being square. I had to make some very curious-angled not-quite-90-degrees cuts in worktops before ours would go together.

But it does look good doesn't it!

Is that the final colour of the walls?

Straight walls? Level ceilings? Waht? That quad-oven wall looks like a monster, but where's the refrigerator (beer) and the wine-cooler?
