Chunky

Not the greatest pic I know but it shows the first of the new sandstone copings that arrived last week. After 15 months the restoration of the main house is reaching the end of its first phase with the last of the internal work due to be completed (barr snagging) in 4-5 weeks time. The arrival of the sandstone copings, steps and flagging signals the start of a busy second stage which weather permitting should be complete by the end of October. Now I just need to order 12 tons of lime render, make a couple of hundred yards of ornate barge boarding, replace and repair endless gutters and downpipes etc etc...you get the idea. The joy of ending months of interior work and finally getting stuck into some more work of an outdoor physical nature is however tempered by my mounting sense of panic as the birth of my son draws closer.....a busy spring and summer is guaranteed so stay tuned for further developments...it really is like watching paint dry when visiting here!

I'm free to turn up on Wednesday afternoon, and most of Friday if that's any help...

I'll bring my own trowel!

Lucky you though - great job in the offing!
