On the level

No, this isn't a post about funny handshakes but about a little good news on the cost and inflation front. Over the years I have used and owned a couple of laser levels and have found them of great help when used in the right circumstances ( yes we still use spirit levels and plumb lines). I bought a new rotary level this week for what seemed a rather small amount of money considering the tech involved. In a time of inflation and escalating prices it was a pleasant surprise to find at least one item was becoming cheaper although not an everyday item of purchase I know. As a plus it also keeps the children amused....more lasers!

Yikes - laser? How does it keep the children amused?

Burning holes in bricks? Playing CDs and DVDs? I bet Thud's children would also be amused with the ancient Egyptian way to set out levels involving a long, clear hose and water.
Could the price fall have something to do with the laser level market becoming more mature, just like consumer electronics - digital cameras are better and cheaper than when they were introduced.

years ago a headlight for night fishing cost me about £80 including battery... a very much better, lighter and brighter LED light is now available in Poundland....with batteries (3 required ) at 10 for a pound.
Do the Princesses chase the laser spot around as cats do ?
