Dig dig dig it.
A year after the pikey delivery men destroyed one of my gate pillars we have finally gotten around to starting the prep work needed before the much more fitting new ones are delivered. Given that we where digging holes and mixing concrete for the footings (each pillar weighs a ton) the weather of course obliged by turning the ground into a quagmire, with driving rain making work the usual pleasant experience winter in northern England is. My contribution to the day consisted of lots of pointing, swearing, shouting and limping.....par for the course in fact.

We noticed as we went beeped our way past, you should go and sit down on your bench by your vegetable patch and wait until princess number1 comes home from school she'll sort the guys out, did you discuss your engineering problems with princess number2, she can dig holes a lot quicker than you can.
ps couldn't get you any walking sticks at Beeston or Ellesmere Port but will try next week at Widnes. :-)
"pointing, swearing, shouting and limping"
