Hanging around

I spent this morning in my local masons yard signing off the next section of my gate pillars. The mason is a nice chap and lets me hang around a bit in an attempt to improve my own meagre skills by observation and proximal osmosis ( I just made that up).....supporting local tradsmen is what its all about.

And as you're not in the guild and do some masonry, you are a free mason.

Very nice. I like the 'proximal osmosis' too!

I like proximal osmosis too, but you're really a bit thick-skinned to let anything sink in!

That's one craft I've never watched!

Saw a carpenter working with an adze once, and was much enlightened, but masonry - never!

Lucky you!
