Enightened finial and barge design there Thud!

Love it!

(Also love the little pigs, which I saw on some houses my grandfather built years ago, and I can't find the blasted photos...)!

Perfect stonework underneath perfect woodwork, is there no end to Squire Thud's talents? I am very impressed by the four blocks made up of the Mondrian-like patchwork of smaller blocks - is there a practical reason reason apart from aethetics and virtuosity with a chisel why that was done?

Brian, besides the reasons you mentioned it was a case back in ye olde days of waste not want not and so a proportion of a build was made up from offcuts.

It looks good at the moment. We have had to change our woodwork from white to black to stop birds nesting on it.

I like the little sub-squares, the blocks made of smaller multiples of brick/stone. Neat patterning.
