A touch of colour

Autumn in England can be a rather grey and brown affair by and large. Walking down the drive today idling as usual (concreting to be done) I took the time to take in just how colourful this year has been...a rather pleasant interlude before loading up the mixer intruded.

Stunning colours, Thud!

It really has been a grand autumn, and although there's not much else to fall now, there's still just a bit all over the ground, just where it'll do some good next year!

Our pet Enkianthus (sounds a bit grand, but really just a little, beautiful tree), is getting its last leaves organised, and they just glow about now...

Love it to bits!

Your showing your age Thud, there was I and a few other guys working out how to get a Blenheim aircraft engine onto a pallet from a trailer that had just brought it up from Cambridge to the fort, then I was working out how we can modify our sound system to operate an mp3 player instead of a cd player in our Titanic display, which by the way you couldn't be bothered to visit over the summer period, and all you can think of is trees hmmmph.

If I can have the Blenheim engine I'll be over like a shot.

Sorry Thud it needs a bit of work on it, it was buried about 20ft in the ground, they do need people to jet wash it and put it back together, :-) next year is the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic in May so keep some dates free, as it looks as if it's going to be good, will let you know when I see you.

Just had your Sparrowhawk visiting us, it had a starling on the grass and I didn't have my camera, as I put it on charge, mrs Albert was in hysterics, I was enjoying the only thing I could say, was the beauty of the wild, the mad moggy broke up the party and both birds got to hell before the moggy got them, will you keep your wilderness out of our urban serenity please.
