Mummy never bought me anything as cool as that to wear. I once saw a T shirt in a shop with a good pun on it - 'Have a break - Have a Kwik Krap' written in the KitKat logo. She was unimpressed and refused to buy it for me. I carried on with my floral shirts with big 1970s collars..........

Not as sad as me.

I like looking up things like this:

(I'm sure you'll like it too)

PS, Ma came home with two pairs of Brutus jeans - one for me and one for bro'

They were all the rage at the time and we were too poor to afford them. We wondered how she'd managed on her pin money from the news agent.

We put them on.

Bro's crotch was near his knees - my arse bulged to the left. Inside the jeans was stamped 'irregular'

When we complained to Ma she exclaimed, "But... but... they're BRUTUS !"

They're growing.

You're raising them with fantastic taste in music :)

What are you doing to those little one's, it seems your stamping them the same, when we know they are individual horrors :-), didn't see you at the Kelsall steam rally today, you forgotten about it, it's quite good, tractors even two tractors from Australia, steam engines even one from Australia , wagons, motorbikes, horses, etc, the kids will love it and it's on Sunday as in tomorrow, it even has a fair.

Gosh Thud, I can't believe how they've grown and another one on the way....I'm most envious, I always wanted four children but had to settle for three...Having four grandchildren really compensates though.!

Di..xx

I'll never forget the first time I heard Sheena is a Punk Rocker and how it changed my life (literally). It was one of the greatest moments. Every kid should have that... Thud, you're scary but you rock... :) Beautiful kids...

DB. The ramones marked a change in pop culture, a huge change for the better.

I was raised on classical, then musicals (Chorus Line and Fiddler), then came the Beatles... then the Ramones... and then my best friend and I went to see Rude Boy. That was the beginning of the end of the beginning...

DB, quality will out and good music exists in all genres but Ramones and the Clash etc heralded a social sea change in the U.K. in particular. A very young vinogirl got to hang out with the clash etc as I worked with them and other such bands....twas good fun.

Thud, you're my new hero (even though you're still scary). The Clash turned my world upside down. I actually discovered them as a 13-year-old kid visiting London for the first time (my first episode of full-throttle anglophilia). When I got home to So. Cal., the heavy metal kids laughed at me (and that made it even cooler).

Long live rock, as someone once said...
