Pumpkin time

As we prepare for our return to England, America is turning to all things pumpkin as fall rapidly approaches. I'm by and large pretty much a lager drinker with most real ale and flavoured ales passing me by as plain old lager just seems to do the trick. I do however to my surprise like the pumpkin ales that America produces in abundance this time of year and this display in wholefoods this morning needs sampling before we head back to blighty.

I have not tried the pumpkin ale yet, it doesnt appeal somehow. Funny enough us is slow to using pumpkin in things other than pie...

America's Original Pumpkin Ale is delicious - I like that one. It's nice to welcome the fall with some interesting and fleeting flavors in the beer aisle.

Thud, if you ever get the chance, read Damon Runyon's short story, 'A piece of pie'

Hilarious, and guess what it's about!

I like pumpkin flavour in all things considering I didn't eat much of it growing up in England.
