Clever chaps those Americans, my experiences with Scottish power here and their elf n safety culture means that cutting trees to clear power lines as shown by my sisters in Napa would be a non starter....cool looking too.
It's interesting that many power cables are overground in the USA. We noticed that too, and far from being eyesores, there's a certain 'style' about the cables!
I like the traffic light gantries too - much more practical!
