Watching the birds

I think its rather chilly but for these chaps who number in the hundreds in my garden most mornings it is positively balmy,hence the flying here from Scandinavia.

Now I'm wondering if the two thrushes we have in our holly tree are in fact related...

They do fight occasionally so perhaps they are!

It's a Redwing, not a Fieldfare.

Fieldfares are much bigger and have whitish under the wings and on the breast. And yes, it's a member of the thrush family.

Both are common winter visitors in most of the UK.
