Part timer

The house shown in the pic is the project I'm working on now in my efforts to retire/take time out/ work part time...or whatever the hell it is I am trying to do right now. It's aVictorian villa built in 1865 in a part of Liverpool that seems to be rather popular due to access to parks, bars, and restaurants etc.....personaly you couldn't pay me to live there but what do I know? The house is 6500 sq ft  divided into 4 apartments and in need of a good  bit of tlc, but I've decided to just go for a basic refurb.that means we have made good the roof and replaced electrics and gas, with drains etc already in good order. The rest of the job consists of painting painting painting plus whatever joinery is needed to architraves doors etc.I'll price them below the top rate for the area to allow the prospective purchasers to budget for a more comprehensive bathroom/kitchen do over.......I'm bored out of my tiny mind doing this stuff!

Are you putting it back to one house then, Thud?

I like the style of the building though, what sort of values are there for this sort of place?

Michael, I'm keeping it as the four apartments as only daft people like me want to rattle around in big cold Victorian houses! depending on fit and finish apts of this size in area go for 175-250k.

Didn't you used to own the house across the road also? Bathroom reminds me of that one.

Nice looking property.

Ooh, real wooden shutters...and is that some rather fine plastwork I see there?

6,500 sq ft is a pretty tidy house, what a shame you can't put it back into one - I guess nobody would want it as you say.

Now if it were out in the country, near some sheltered water, with a bit of land...but then I suppose it would be worth a couple of mil. Dreams...

Nice to hear from you Kev...get blogging again even if under another name. I've had several careers in my life and I'd like to think maybe I have enough umph left for another.

Skylights are nice! That bath looks awful cold though, and with a lot of grout to clean!
