Black lives matter
No police officer leaves for work in the morning with the intent to murder a black man.Bad training and past experience does mean that sometimes tragic instances of accidental death/manslaughter do arise. The rise of smart phone filming of the incidents and the non stop tweeting of airhead entertainers and racially laden pronouncements from the likes of Obama do however enable the murders of the five officers in Dallas last night.You cannot demonise a body of people such as the police and not expect idiots to one day act, especially when they believe they have the backing of the likes of Obama, J.Jackson, Beyonce and other clowns....there will be more incidents like this and it pains me to see America torn apart.

It's a horrible state of affairs all round.
All the guilty, the lawless on both sides, need to be removed from the scene.
"You cannot demonize a body of people such as the police" but you can hold them accountable, since they work for the public.
James is correct ALL the guilty on both sides need to be removed. Unfortunately all you can do on the side of the criminals, is prosecute them under our laws.

I have no dog in this fight so I'm pretty open to both sides.I do appreciate the extra risk for a section of society but that section created the risk through its actions and so the result is the trouble we see now.If the police slowly withdraw from communities as we are seeing now then the only people that suffer are the poor unfortunates left behind at the mercy of those criminals who care for no people regardless of colour.i don't know where this will end but not well I think.

But now you say: "I do appreciate the extra risk for a section of society" So what is its? BTW where do you see that in Black Lives Matter it would exclude any other lives? Your argument is unbelievably weak.

Using your weak argument this must mean President Reagan called for animal abuse after all his proclamation was for the Sanctity of "Human" Life.
Just because you highlight a cause you think needs to be addressed doesn't mean you exclude other causes. I know this might not be natural to you as a Brit, but our Constitution gives us the right to speak out about things we care about. The same way our Constitution protects the free speech of people supporting overturning Roe v. Wade. Or are you saying:

The death rate among police officers murdered in the line of duty in the US is high. Far from being one-way...
I spent the last weekend with one of the top police Armed Response Vehicle drivers in the SW and he said of our differences that:
A) There is a gun culture in the USA
B) Officers cannot be so well trained as our few experts, but then our few experts do not have to deal with prolific violent gun crime
C) 1 in 4 officers is killed by his own gun after a grapple
No wonder American cops are twitchy. They will have read reports and seen videos of how instantly a situation can turn lethal.
