I collected panels from foundry earlier this week and a pretty good job they did for me. The original was salvaged from a church and now I have enough to complete the wall I started last year. There is something about a foundry that makes me feel like I'm involved in something 'real'. I suppose along with stone, building with cast Iron makes one think of time and mortality given the fact that these railings will be here way after I'm history......which is ok as I'm already a legend!

Thud: you've put life in a proper perspective!
Beautiful!
I used to love the term we used when writing a bill of quants for installing such items - "and run with lead"!
Almost medieval!
Legend? Yup, you're a real leading light (pronounce it like the metal, get it?)
hmmm....lets see...that would be my mum and sisters amongst others....so while you are free to think so I'm free to stop you breathing if we ever meet....seems fair no?
What was that all about??
Anyhow casting metal is a thing with roots that goes back to Roman times, it's brilliant. My worry with my "dry creek" project was that I'd get something wrong, and nobody is going to come in and correct it down the road, so I really must get it right the first time.
I'd prefer Anonymous would just stop breathing all on his own, but please feel free to intervene on my behalf :)
haha! Lahore whores....somebody has a sense of humour!
