Head for the hills!

A few years back I decided that city living wasn't for me and so I bought a small farm and headed for the hills. The house (pic above) was for me a great project as it had never been touched (other than by rot!) and I could turn it into something that wouldn't upset Mrs OTWs very city oriented lifestyle. The house was situated in England's far north and was for me suitably isolated and seemed to offer no prospects for encroachment by nulabours rapidly debasing hordes. so..house rebuilt...orchard in...barns tidied up.....and then...reality!...how to make a living? Driving to Liverpool was a 5 hour round trip and the chances for local work negligible. So with a heavy heart I sold and settled back into life in the big shitty. Now I find the same yearning for escapism starting all over again...I love my time in California every year but for the mid term I need to be in England and I want an old farm to rebuild again....pity about the price rises though...does anybody have a spare farm?

It's gorgeous. A five-hour round trip around here can be the freeway at rush-hour on Friday, from San Jose to the Carquinez Bridge.

That house is just beautiful. Or maybe the fact that no damned people are around it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and I'll add you to my blog roll.

Wow, just can't stop looking at that picture.....

The house was right up on Hadrians wall...as close to a wilderness as england gets.

What a stunning place. Sorry you had to give it up. I hope you find your next project very soon.
