Talking turkey

In Wally world today whilst perusing the aisles for cheap socks (stylish me) I noticed that with Thanksgiving and Christmas looming Utah has turned to all things of a turkey nature. Pictured above is just some of the turkey ephemera that seems to be heaped around the huge shop in honour of the Turkey massacre to be.Turkey rubs, salts, gravy, stuffing, basters, platters, gloves, all are available in all sizes, colours and flavours. But the deep fat Turkey fryer has to be the king of all things Turkey....none of that poncing around tenderising the bird of your choice....just dunk the little bugger in boiling oil and hey presto!....the biggest Mcnugget one could ever wish for.....I'm all about haute cuisine as you can plainly see.

We seem to have adopted many Americanisms of late in the Motherland.Trick or Treat,High School Proms etc.Lord Roby thinks it's high time we celebrated Thanksgiving.Somethibg along the lines of 'Will you take us back day' sounds about right.

Don't want to even think about Christmas, let alone Thanksgiving, apart from giving thanks, that is.

Crisco are selling peanut oil in 3 gallon containers to deep fry turkeys. That's a lot of oil.
My neighbour wants me to buy a Willy Bird turkey for her kids school fundraiser....should I?
