It's called Winter

The pic above shows the view that met me on arrival at work today, snowy, cold and rather beautiful. Whilst working I heard several people on the radio talking about the weather here and the floods happening in Madeira in tones that could only be described as ominous,"we must do something to stop all this calamitous weather resulting from global warming/climate change". Now whilst not exactly decrepit I am nonetheless able to remember various other periods of inclement weather in the past, the equal or more of that we are presently experiencing....am I alone in remembering it is called ...Winter?

Winter's shifted by a couple of months.

Call February December and we're back to the fifties again.

Went past your place, mrs Anon still looking to take a piccy of those Buzzards, went past Hooton and saw one on the hedge but it flew away as usual, are you still on target for the move this week, the weather up here over the last 20 years has been in two parts, end of November with cold and maybe snow and the second part has moved from the begining of December to the end of January, but this year real winter weather on time,it's this Global warming that's changed things innit.

Thuders - 'work today', makes me feel proud to see someone like you still making the best of it.

The council planners, and their cohorts upsatiars on enormous salsraies could well learn that their future relies on blokes like you.

But they'll never bother to learn because the pension's so good after all those years in a nice big office with tea and stuff...

global warming and climate change was a topic discussed in my tutor group today i had to bite ones tongue, well almost. "the planet is heating up" said one student "yeah looks like it with any look it will melt the frost on the car" said i. "no no im mean in summer" said the mildly confused crusty student. "thats why they call it summer, maybe if it got warmer here during the summer months you and your parents would holiday in the UK instead of abroad and help our economy thus make future life a little better for you and me" said i.
"Hmmm" said the group
bad thing this global warming..

Well if you watch the film Day After Tomorrow, Wozzisname-the-famous-older-actor-who's-really-gorgeous-but- instantly-forgettable says to the UN council in India that global warming can indeed have an immediate cooling effect. And lo! He wuz right.

Best keep those snow chains on....

Global warming is a religion to the left.

Since the left in the states, at least, is so enamored of crying "separation of church and state", maybe we ought to start holding them to it : )

Anyway, here is where they placed a Steveson screen (which is used to measure temperatures) in Rome.

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/03/28/how-not-to-measure-temperature-part-86-when-in-rome-dont-do-as-the-romans-do/

Notice the problem?

How can we discuss global warming when we can't even trust the temperature readings?
