Move it boyo!

My sister Vinogirl alluded in a post last week to my families part Welsh ancestry (even if outnumbered by Irish grandparents etc). The pic above shows my spark/tech guy attempting to alter the aerial on one of the chimney stacks due to the fact that we only seem to receive Welsh t.v. Having Welsh ancestors may be all well and good but the weather report for Cardiff (150 miles away) coupled with programmes broadcast in a language spoken by only 7 people is a step too far.

Moel Y Parc or Miss Piggy as some radio hams call it,see the lights from our road at night as the transmitter is just across the Dee on the hills from us ,what's up with using Storeton repeater your only few miles away :-),besides digital transmissions you should also get Winter Hill transmissions on 800>,beside most tv's etc allow you to modify the epg to suit

You need to tell the guy on the roof...you did work for the same company!

Since we've changed to Talk Talk, when i 'arrive' on your site'Shaw Oldham' appears on the Live Traffic Feed.
What's that all about, then, my learned friend?

Trubes...servers seem to be located in areas remote from the actual user....I appear as being all over the place. I had a visitor today who comments here and he asked me to mention to you aout sinking landing stage at pierhead....does that mean anything?

Wow, Welsh TV...and you don't even like leeks!

There used to be somebody who used to try and 'wind me up' about 'the sinking landing stage', I had my suspicions who it was, but, since you mention it....
Pomona Dock or Jonathon Hemlock perchance?

Trubes...the chap posts here as anonymous....by coincidence it was he via an anonymous post alerted me as to the sale of this house as the Thornton/Brimstage area was pretty unknown to me.

Never used Pomona Docks,True Blue/Trubes but did use Pomona, you have a good memory,I had forgotten that one, fancy a Woolieback finding a house for a Scouser oh the shame, but then Thud has a lovely family so all the minuses become pluses,he's promised he won't have a bearpit or a dogfighting area or shoot at the fury animals or run round digging up the garden on Quad bike, but I do know a certain little person does want a pink computer and a pink gun that shoots paper :-),I realise he does need a gate guardian,I at first thought of an old aeroplane like a Spitfire or an old T34 tank but didn't you say a while back in a comment something about the gate :-).

Gate guardian? I believe that at his southerly residence down in the country The Englishman has a pillbox or what he calls a bunker - all good stuff!
Out West here the Cavalry used wood for blockhouses, somewhat prone to fire by the natives but mainly it doesn't last like concrete...

The best preserved bunker/pillbox I have seen is part of the gateway at a big house in Hooton lane,it was part of the airfield defences for ex RAF Hooton aka Vauxhall motors Ellesmere Port,is on road that was leading to the main RAF gate, the bunker/pill box still looks as if something could jump out of it and bite you,Thud has a bunker/half pill box not too far away, which part of the Wirral halt line, still a few to be seen when you look ,pictures on his blog a few months back,www.wikiwirral.co.uk has a history forum with lots of info about Wirral.

Anonymous: I should have said, Pomona, not Pomona Dock, which is
of course, a dock in Greater 'Grimchester'.

I am known for my prolific memory,
so beware!

I think Thud should have two large concrete Lions at the entrance to his stately pile.
After all, he is, quintessentially an English Gentleman, despite his claims of Scouseness.....
Isn't it amazing, the lines of Nobility that hail from Liverpool, including myself, Di, The Duchess of Childwall.
Also, the Noble Lord Roby...

P.S. I hope you're an Evertonian!

I reckon your Sparks is also the reigning Merseyside Hide and Seek Champion. Took me ages to spot him behind that chimneystack - if that isn't him you've got a ghost or a squatter!
Have you thought of a fibreglass Spit or Hurri as a gate guardian? If so I can forward you a link.

Trubes, two concrete lions at the entrance to his pad,Thud is already a Chav,I think that would be the height of chavness if he did that,Thud is a Scouser his time living over this side of the water hasn't yet turned him into a woolieback but I am hopeful.

If they closed all football stadiums Im afraid I wouldn't notice or care.

I thought Scousers were all left wing and frowned upon people who were made Lords and Ladies or is that just pie in the sky.

Anonymous: I lived on The Wirral for 20 years in a previous life...Does that make me a 'woolie back'?
The Wirral is known as the Dormitory to Liverpool, by Scousers.
I not only support Everton FC, (from the armchair), but I am an avid Rugby Union and Cricket fan too!
My first true love played for New Brighton Rugby Club..

Sorry to disappoint you, but, I am a fully paid up member of The Conservative Party....
A bit thin on the ground in Scouseland ...but one can only dream...A bit like Everton winning The Premiership..
During the course of my working days, I have, indeed, 'rubbed shoulders' with 'The Nobility', and found, overall, they were a jolly good bunch.

I still have a suspicion of your identity...Hmm.. Very interesting

TTFN.

We live just south of the Wirral. We changed our aerial but still seem to receive BBC Wales!

Pillbox good, cannons better! A couple 12-lb Napoleons would be swell.
