Red breast

Not a great pic I know but considering I was holding the camera above my head and wedging it into a crack in a stone wall, it will have to do. The hungry little mite shown is a European Robin ,one of Britain's (and mine) favourite birds. I spent part of each of the last couple of days watching the flustered parents flitting back and forth feeding the growing family and I gained some respite from the hurly burly and worries of the ongoing general election....from such little things does happiness spring.

Ah lovely little mites, too early for the shotgun then :-),Thud has enough gamebirds using his gardens for him to set up some butts and hire out some shotguns,as we saw when we visited Thursday, but then I think the princesses would get upset with dad if he did that,as we know they are country girls now.

Was anxious to hear about the election's outcome, and it seems it's not settled yet. Nice to re-focus and remember that life goes on, no matter what Bozo our neighbors may thoughtlessly put into office. :)
I suggest a liberal dosage of fermented grape product.

Vey cute, I love robins too. I hope your crows don't get them...I think that was the fate of our quail eggs here last year!
