Pea souper

California is experiencing a rather cool summer this year (averaging 80 or so degrees) by local standards although to a Brit it does seem rather toasty. This weekend we are planning to spend some time at the beach with the amount of fog we will experience being the subject of much debate. Considering Americans ask about England being foggy it comes as a bit of a shock to them that the bay area and its fog is a pleasant surprise to a holidaying Brit (although it does disappoint some tourists). The bay area in summer greets most days with a thick blanket of fog which can be a bit disconcerting until one realises that within a couple of hours a blue sky and bright sunshine are guaranteed....a pretty good combo don't you think?

Fog, sun and 80 degrees sounds fine to me. Will swap with you for tomorrow's forecast of rain and 70 degrees, here.

Yes, by English standards, it's fantastic. Do I sound too spoiled though if I complain, just a little, that I'd like to wake up to sunshine?

Suggest before you return, invest in swimming lessons, swimming cozzy and maybe a jetski bike to get around your pad as per every day it's poured down,up until yesterday we had a hosepipe ban,the Pennine reservoirs are still half empty, along with the biomass smells on the Church farm,Thurstaston is a bit heavy and United Utilites smell around by your pad has all but gone, but apart from that,Wirral is still as lovely as ever,we may not have fog/smog covering a bridge (nearest Runcorn 16 miles away),can't really say the new Queensferry bridge as that is stringy toy one over the river Dee,where did you get that paint from for your gate, did you nick it out of a Wirralway wardens van, just buzzing off now to Southport flower show,(I hate Southport it's the end of the edge of the world), I really think I should take a dingy or at least fishing waders as we have a summer storm on the go. :-)
