Over a glass or two of wine last night my brothers in law and I attempted some Pumpkin carving for the little uns, with I think half decent results. It was definitely easier and more rewarding than the turnip carving of my younger days. Halloween or
duck apple night as it once was called was always fun but the carving of those flinty smelly and muddy buggers called turnips was not one of its highlights....a spooky change for the better I think.

I didnt go near any of them ,the missus gets all wrapped up in the spirit of these things as i slob out i'm ashamed to say.
I can't believe you'd go and upset Affer like that!
Good job though, English folk, on carving those pumpkins.
Did you roast the seeds?
Your pumpkins must have delighted the little'uns to the nth degree! Very clever, beautifully done. :)
