Driving through
Puddington (great name) one of my favourite local villages, I stopped to take the above pic something I've meant to do for a while now. The gateposts and wall are of rather decent quality and yet they appear (on google earth) to lead nowhere and yet there they are. Just what was here in the past? who lived there and what happened to them? I seem to spend half my time living in the past,so much so I sometimes ignore the here and now...perils of a life spent around rebuilding period houses I suppose?

You can say the same thing about the gateposts on the A5137 just before the WWII pill box.
Puddington is really Burton so does have a history.

leave it to you lot to find the info as I can't be bothered as the temperature has fallen to -2c and the bit of "snow" we had has frozen over and I just want to hibernate.
It doesn't look very old.
Is this link any help? The gate could be part of the old de Massey estate.
