Dazed and confused.
Any self respecting Liberal would on a quick browse of my blog soon conclude I am your typical right wing fascist racist neocon chickenhawk and of course they would be correct (substituting culturalist for racist). It comes as some surprise to myself however that I for the first time do not agree with the course of military action we have undertaken in Libya. I'm all for Gaddafi popping his clogs but why we are spending time and effort that would be better expended elsewhere (Iran?) is beyond me. I'm not one for conspiracies but I do wonder just why the French are so gung ho about this intervention......I hate to say it but does oil come in to this? I'm just not too happy about our armed forces being put in harms way and more of our taxes going to support a group of people of dubious origins, too many cries of allah akbar from the rebels for my liking, I just don't see we have a dog in this fight.

He who gives the backhanders and the jobs to the "chosen" when they retire is the one who wins, just keep your hands out of your wallet and let them carry on dipping into it, nothing to do with you, your not intelligent enough to understand what's happening, the NWO is running the show, can't wait for the local elections, big boot time, I see local bribes haves already been issued, rates stay the same.
I'd rather the cruise missiles etc stayed in their packing cases in Port Stanley for when they are needed there...
off topic.... pic of barge boards that don't look to be part of a confessional

Libya gives 2% global oil output.
I don't know why they're doing it.
Perhaps it's simply because Gaddafi is an all round, undisputed bad guy that the overgrown six formers running our countries can rail against without the wrath of some comeback from the various groups they need to influence in their own media and establishemts.
I'd prefer it if our wars were for self defence or helping countries that speak English and play cricket and rugby union and Canada. However, this is an excellent live fire exercise for the RAF and RN and they might as well use up ordnance before its shelf life expires and before ships and squadrons are cut to pay for the Army taking too long in Iraq and Afghanistan because of their doctrine of boots on the ground and MoD procureent "mistakes". In addition, the PR in the "Arab/Muslim Street" is excellent.
Re the Arabs shouting "Allah Akbar" endlessly, it's mainly a lack of alternative vocabulary on their part. I hope someone teaches them proper shouts like "Waho Mohammed" or "Faugh a Ballagh" (my preferred).
12 million a day....thats my only concern. cameron screwed up here, 12 million a day!

This constant "I'm not one for conspiracies but ..." people say. Why not? They exist, people collude and there is much to be gained for them in this intervention.
James...I make my living dealing with quantities and exact measurements so the worldof maybe is a bit difficult for me plus it does tend to be populated by some serious loons.
nope no dog in this fight<><>.,$ i guess
Why do it to Ghadaffy and not to Bobby Mugabe? There are a host of deserving African dictators who need a lead head-slug.
But maybe the Frogs want payback for the '89 UTA #772 bomb that killed all 170 on-board including 54 French nationals? But if so, why were they selling him missiles and radio gear in '07? Maybe the stuff didn't work, and they needed to cover that.
Why Libya and not Syria?
Or Bahrein?
And, when the brown stuff hits the fan, why not Saudi Arabia? Oh, I know the answer to that one: the Saudi Airforce has better and more modern weaponry than the RAF!
I'm baffled by this one, too. It seems a no-win situation for any Westerners, to me.
Qaddafi hasn't bothered us for years, yet we jump in the side of rebels whom we know nothing about.
I think Obama calls this "Smart" power.
What do they call it over the water : )
