Arduous

The first of the lime render is now on and I think the resulting effect is pretty good especially compared to what went before. The process of getting it onto the wall has however comes as somewhat of a shock to my intrepid band of scouse craftsmen (that's one polite way of describing them) as unlike cement based render, lime render is rather unforgiving and lacking in plasticity. The present rather sunny spell whilst enjoyable to work in means that the misting of the walls and render means I have to start the process before breakfast and apply a final misting just before going to bed. The first 25 sq mtrs are now done so roll on the next 550!

I bet they curse the lime putty under their breath but when they finish they will be justly proud of their achievement. Definitely worth a half pint of shandy all round.

I expect they're being well paid too, Brian.

Thud - no annoying water feature, yappy dog or wayward kids in your plans ???

Kev....like you I have had neighbour probs in the past but now I'm surrounded by greenery and fields...noisy pissing cows though.

The photo doesn't do the render justice...and yes, the urinating cows would pass as a very noisy water-feature!
