Hello Contra Costa

The view of Mt Diablo from the window of the plane as we come in to land at SFO is always a cheering sight. The Swiss air flight was as efficient and comfortable as one would imagine the Swiss would provide and the journey to our home at the base of Mt Diablo accomplished courtesy of a crazed Indian with little trouble and maximum speed ( mind you we now all speak Hindi). As an Englishman I always feel guilty by the joy California elicits in me but what can I do?...sun,food,wine and good company is an unbeatable recipe for happiness....it's good to be back.

Went past your Wirral house yesterday, it's still there, it's not jammed up on bricks and no scouser has nicked anything from it, is that a record or just a comedian's dream, we had the Mayoress of Wirral at Fort Perch Rock on Monday and she had to walk along the marine drive, with all the kids and mum's and dad's on the beach watching the sun was cracking the flags, it went well ,with one of the guys invited to give a speech at a booze up and free meal at a local traders bash, the collecting tins are being made as I type :-),the fort now has the Titanic's radio callsign and has special permission to use the defunk radio frequency's for the Titanic's hundreth next year, somehow I don't think the fort will do a Titanic after 200years guarding the Mersey and Liverpool.
