Gated community

The gates now look like gates which is an advantage I believe but with my talents you never can tell. Next job is dowling the tenons and putting right my rather dubious tolerances....fun though.

Don't like to say this, as it upsets me saying it to you, but absolutely gorgeous!.

You missed HMS Illustrious going out on Monday.

Pretty gate, great craftmanship. Showing my ignorance - What's a tolerance? Anything to do with being able to down three gin and tonics??

Alw, it is the fit or lack of between two objects, the less the better. As for the G and T an Englishman especially when in the colonies can tolerate a minimum of three!

About to undertake a building project myself and tolerances are going to be critical. Perhaps a certain level of inebriation is required. Or epoxy resin.

Squire Thud,
The gates looked great before the piercing and ironwork; now they're excellent. So PVCu wasn't an option?:)

Brian, gates will be painted, hopefully about 6 coats, I'm a train spotter for old pattern books and I do collect odd bits of scrap ornate cast work for reference.... a bungalow made of pvcu may feature in my future!
