Our friends above
After my last post on the blitz I thought this would be an apt follow up as I considered those who gave their all defending the innocent below....just look at these pictures,simply stunning.
Returning from The Raj in '69 we stopped in Blighty to visit my dad's girl-cousin in Enfield Lock where they made SMLE's and the posters for the epic film Battle Of Britain were everywhere and Madame Tussaud's had an excellent diorama of the interior of a Heinkel He-111 over London getting shot-at by ack-ack (right beside the one of Nelson's battleship) and as a young aircraft/weapon enthusiast I was in freakin' hog-heaven. Merlins and Spitfires are awesome.
