Shake off the cobwebs

Spring is just around the corner so I've been busy the last couple of weeks doing jobs around here in preparation for the hopefully good weather to come. To make good the damage done by various storms I've quite a few fence panels to make which is pretty tedious and is amongst the jobs we scornfully refer to as haberdashery (it's a builders thing). When I get them finished I can get things ready for the roof to come off part of the house and new windows and stone surrounds fitted....that's more like it!

You always manage to make an ordinary bit of work something special Thud!

I love those panels!

Lucky you on some good outside work! Mrs Scroblene and I have just reluctantly decided that I've got to re-tile the shower, as the blasted thing leaks at the seal with the tray, and water pours down to the kitchen below...

Bummer, eh...

Scrobs, ta for that! As for shower trays...urgh! it does take some time and effort to get them sorted does it not? for me lots of prep on floor (18-25mm marine) plus solid base (cast or travertine) has finally made them less of a problem.

Thud, thanks for the advice! I'm off to B&Q tomoz for new tiles, sealant and a proper flashing for the tray!

It'll take a day to get rid of the old stuff, and a day tiling and grouting, but after a year of drips here and there, one has to bite the bullet!

And the kitchen ceiling may well get the white paint it deserves after all this time...

Tis indeed James, I'm running around like a blue arsed fly trying to take advantage.

Bugger. I did my fencing last year and I felt all hard and builder-ish. Alas I was merely doing crochet and making doylies.

Haha, sorry Kev! if it doesn't involve machinery or at least 3 power tools it doesn't count.
