Well, honestly, that's how I perceive it as well ... a bit 'in your face'.
Funny, thing is here in Texas, it's a big drinking holiday for a lot of folks. A friend of mine (a 6'5" black guy who has dredlocks, wears kilts and is a conservative republican) had a massive party, in fact. He's a lab chemist and makes the best martinis ever. I stopped by, but primly drank only a club soda.
