Heap of trouble
Princess OTW can be seen above enjoying herself as I explore a house and its accompanying buildings. When I set out to buy a building whether for myself or for my business I set a criteria for me to follow so that I don't get carried away in the heady rush of discovering a property that I like whilst knowing that it is probably unsuitable in reality. Well....yet again I have found a house that is the opposite from what I'm after and I am going to try and buy it,great businessman that I am! I did want a smallish house with perhaps a barn or coach house to convert, instead I have decided upon a rather large house with enough outbuildings to keep me busy for ten years.Considering the amount of time I plan to spend in California I just don't know how I'm going to manage this project if it comes off.The allure of derelict sandstone cottages and higgeldy piggeldy Georgian/victorian main house is however just too much to resist.....time for a cheeky offer I think!

Good luck with the offer Thud. You're thinking ahead. The large lawn in the picture will be ideal for Princess OTW's wedding reception.
Both look lovely and both will keep you busy :-), local or eleswhere ?.
Brimstage....offer is in but up against some redevelopers/nursing home types so we shall see.
I suppose that offering for something that you don't really want puts you in a powerful position.
Interesting - is this your work or hobby?
EK...I'd like to think so.
TT...started as hobby but became business,I lolve working on period houses.
I will have to slow down a bit and beep 3 times when I pass there, nice place for little missy, cows and horses one side horses the other plus the duck pond in front, that place has a long drive,is that the back of the house because the front always looks like a forest.
Yes thats the back, there is quite a bit of stuff hidden in those trees.Taking to agents again today about a revised offer.
Interesting it has a history, the tithe maps show buildings on that site from 1831-65 according to Cheshire tithe maps, the boundries have changed at the front, had a look at the agents web site pictures usually I just never bother doing that sort of thing, the piccys look very nice,my mrs says go for it,it's beutiful, don't let your heart rule your brain tho,is it in the conservation area,10 years + I reckon, but I am thick so don't take any notice of me.
Are maps online?...I could only get back to 1872! Will probably put final offer in tomorrow...the lever estate is now considering redeveloping it them selves so who knows what will happe. I am trying to be business minded about it but it is a great place(in cons area) so time to make an effort I think.
Anon...I just found tithe maps...very interesting,it shows original shape of house and barn.Barn is of different stone than other apparently later Victorian buildings.
So I better keep an eye out as I go around then, eggs and baskets and all that,I will have a look around Little Sutton in the am,as I am going to Ellesmere Port market probably via Burlydam garden centre as she who has to be obeyed will want to go for a look see and a coffee I don't expect anything as the area has been redeveloped but School lane and Badgers Rake off the Welsh road has a few houses so I will see if there any for sale signs besides I want to have a look at the old airfield by Little Sutton and see if any hangers still exist.
Those maps are great use them in Geneology as well as looking to see when local roads were built,I am really a sad git but hey ho.
See another one 144 Barnston Road,Clive Watkin Pensby rd Heswall
just opposite the boozer.
Princess looks so cute :)
'Happy House Hunting' Thud...
Princess OTW is an absolute little cutie, so pretty....I just love little girls.
Have a good weekend.
Di.x
Little girls need big back yards to play in!
You'll never go wrong with a large yard.
what a place for the kids to grow up in and what better place to could you aaks for when it fills so many of your criteria. Places like that only come along once a blue moon, i think you said that.
go for it.
