True Brit 26

More often than not my pick of true Brits involves an individual from the long history of our country and sometimes seem only to relate to a type perhaps no longer in existence. In fact we are lucky to live surrounded by theses characters, heroes and individuals of outstanding ability are all around. It is easy to fall into the trap of bemoaning the decline and fall of our societies but with people such as Sergeant Michael Lockett around I think we are still capable of great things. I just hope that Sergeant Lockett's loss is not going to be wasted with an ignominious retreat from a fight they were never equipped for and perhaps should never have fought.He and his comrades deserve much better in so many ways. As a nation we were richer for Sergeant Lockett's presence short as it was....God bless him.

Retreat?

This article has a sad air of defeat about it that makes me wonder just what is happening to our army.I have great faith in the abilities of the British soldier but has the lack of government will,equipment and public support started to affect their performance? Surely we are in Afghanistan to kill the enemy?...not just contain them.Isn't containment going to result in the enemy finding more time and opportunities to inflict losses on our troops? Our shabby government needs to decide whether to fully support our Army or to bring them home, as fighting a loosing battle in the shadow of our more muscular American cousins is doing irreparable harm to our Soldiers morale.....they deserve better.

Religion of peace strikes again.

The religion of peace seems to be having a busy day,blowing up a mosque and denying children polio vaccine....an average day for the followers of allah in Pakistan. We really need to kill these people faster and do the rest of the world a favour by bringing these places forward to at least the 18th century.

Sacrifice and Glory.

I write quite a bit about how Britain has declined into what is to me a hostile place that I barely recognise.Sometimes it takes somebody like the fine American military writer Michael Yon to remind me that some British qualities and institutions still remain unblemished and unbowed despite the best efforts of enemies home and abroad.Please take the time to read this article...the Lads deserve no less...they are out fighting and dying right now...God Bless them all.

What makes a man?

Two men are in the news today both involved in Afghanistan...one....fights for the west's two greatest nations and dies....the second....well he gets on TV. and meets the Dalai Lama...whilst no doubt taking a well earned break from the tough life in London and Hollywood.Which one do you think made the real effort for peace in Afghanistan...the man...or the Hollywood man child?

Guilty

I know in certain cases light vehicles are needed but the death today of 4 more British troops further illustrates the blood this govt has on its hands. The govt and MOD have known for years now that British forces are inadequately equipped to deal with mines and shaped charges but for reasons of parsimony and stubbornness have refused until lately to buy the needed vehicles that conform to mrap standard. Over half the fatal casualties have resulted from mines etc that have shown the army land rover snatch vehicles and wimiks to be little more than deathtraps. Handing cheap victories to Taliban murderers is only going to result in more casualties....no more needless deaths in useless vehicles should be the order of the day.

Harry versus the Taliban.

Prince Harry has been out in Afghanistan since christmas operating as a forward air controller and fighting on the front line.I'm pretty neutral as to the Royal family since Charles reduced it to a media circus but this news left me feeling all warm and fuzzy.We have the third in line to the throne out killing England's enemies...members of Mo's death cult at that,plus it will piss off the lefties no end....the Empire strikes back indeed!
